According to author, Leo Christopher, “there’s only thing one more precious than our time, and that’s who we spend it on.

Our volunteers choose to invest their time in us because they recognise the immense value and worth of the young carers we support.

Did you know that volunteering will make you smile? It can make you feel happier and healthier. Volunteering can help you stay connected to your community, allow you to be active, enable you to give back, learn new things, and take notice of what is happening in the world.

Young carers spend hours caring for the people they love. Our volunteers offer their time in return to show their appreciation and support for the young carers we support.

Volunteering costs nothing, and yet the rewards can be great.

Finding your perfect volunteering opportunity with MYTIME will be easy because there's a lot to do!  You could:

 - supervise at one of our activity days for young carers
- help run a fundraising event
- deliver equipment to young carers
- help our team with day to day administrative tasks

On National Young Carers Awareness Day last year, MYTIME hosted a day of rock-climbing for 130 young carers, and we needed all hands on deck. Our volunteers arrived in their masses to show their support and to help supervise the event.

Take a look at some of the feedback we received from our volunteers on that amazing day:

“I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to get involved today. Spending time with these young carers has been truly humbling; they’re wonderful young people and a delight to be around.”

– Heather, 48

“Volunteering with MYTIME is always such a gratifying way to spend some time. What else could I have done with the last few hours that would have felt so meaningful and important as this?”

– Katherine, 29

“MYTIME are a fantastic organisation, led by caring and passionate individuals. The work they do is so important for the young carers in our area. It just feels good to be able to do something to support such a worthy cause.”

– Shayne, 42

We’re always looking to grow and improve as an organisation, so if you have expertise in an area that you feel may be of use to us and are happy to volunteer some of your time, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

it would be absolutely fantastic to hear from you!
