MYTIME's Head of Fundraising Faces Her Fears for Young Carers
5th Jul 2024As a proud member of staff at MYTIME Young Carers, I am thrilled to share with you why I have decided to take part in this exhilarating and slightly terrifying challenge: a wing walk. This is part of our Face Your Fears campaign, which encourages all of us to step outside our comfort zones and confront our fears head-on.
We all have fears, and facing them is no easy task. But it’s in these moments of courage that we grow the most. It’s not just about the adrenaline rush or the thrill; it’s about demonstrating the power of determination and the incredible things we can achieve when we put our minds to it.
At MYTIME Young Carers, we are dedicated to supporting young carers aged 5-25. These remarkable young individuals selflessly devote their time and energy to caring for their loved ones at home. Through our Level Up Programme, Making Memories Programme, and Employability Programme, we strive to level the playing field for these young carers, providing them with the support, opportunities, and experiences they deserve.
By taking part in this daring wing walk, I hope to raise much-needed funds for MYTIME Young Carers, enabling us to continue our vital mission. Every donation we receive goes directly towards enhancing the lives of these young carers, giving them the resources and support they need to thrive.
But beyond fundraising, my goal is to spread awareness about the incredible work we do at MYTIME. By standing on top of that plane, I want to highlight the resilience, bravery, and determination of young carers. Their daily lives are filled with challenges and responsibilities that many of us can’t even imagine, yet they face them with unwavering strength.
As I prepare for this adventure, I won’t deny that I’m a little bit nervous. However, it is this very nervousness that underscores the message we want to convey through our Face Your Fears campaign. It’s about embracing discomfort, pushing our boundaries, and showing that when we face our fears, we can achieve extraordinary things.
I am incredibly excited about the upcoming wing walk, and I hope that my participation inspires others to support MYTIME Young Carers and to recognise the incredible contributions of young carers everywhere. Together, we can make a significant impact on their lives and help them realize their full potential.
