Brave The Wave
28th Nov 2023Brave the Wave with MYTIME for Young Carers: A January Challenge
January is often associated with resolutions and new beginnings, but this year, at MYTIME Young Carers, we’re inviting you to take on a different kind of challenge. As we stand on the threshold of a new year, we want you to embark on a journey that goes beyond the typical resolutions - a journey that involves embracing the chill of winter waves for a cause close to our hearts. We proudly present to you the "Brave the Wave" challenge for January.
The Challenge: Dip into the Sea Every Day in January
The aim is simple but powerful: Get in the sea, or any other cold water source, every day throughout January. While the idea may sound straightforward, the reality is much more challenging. However, we’re encouraging everyone to join our very own Tim Sills in this daily dip to support young carers.
Why Young Carers?
Young carers undertake an immense responsibility, dedicating their time and energy to care for their loved ones around the clock. Balancing caregiving duties with school, college, university, or work is a part of their everyday life. Unfortunately, this can lead to disadvantages. At MYTIME Young Carers, we believe that this is neither right nor fair. We’re calling on individuals to make a splash in January to show their support for these incredible young people.
What's Involved?
Participating in the Brave the Wave challenge means immersing yourself in the sea or another cold water source for a maximum of 8-10 minutes each day in January. Yes, it will be cold, but the benefits extend beyond the initial shock. Not only will you be doing it for an amazingly deserved cause, but possible benefits of a cold dip include things like increased immunity, concentration, tolerance to stress, and much more!
Join Tim Sills and Make a Difference
We invite you to join Tim Sills in this unique challenge. By braving the wave, not only will you be taking on something immensely challenging, but you'll also be contributing to a cause that supports young carers.
As you dip into the cold waters daily, remember that your efforts are making a positive impact on the lives of those who work tirelessly to care for their loved ones. This challenge is more than just a dip—it's a symbolic act of solidarity with young carers, acknowledging the daily struggles they can face.
So, let’s gear up, embrace the chill, and make a splash for MYTIME for Young Carers this January. Together, we can create waves of change and support for those who deserve it the most. Click here to Bave The Wave.
