Ambitions Academies Primary Schools

We have been working with the primary schools in the Ambitions Academies Trust since January 2021. Since the beginning of our relationship, we have created a Trust wide policy that all of the schools follow when supporting their young carers. All schools have had CPD to their pastoral and teaching staff as well as assemblies to their students. Every half term the Young Carer Champions from each school come together with a member of the MYTIME team to share good practice on supporting young carers. We have really enjoyed seeing each school increase their support for young carers and encourage other staff in their MAT to support these incredible children too.

The young carers in these schools have been offered a variety of opportunities including pantomime tickets, monthly sessions at the Vitality Stadium with AFC Bournemouth Community Trust as well days out at Adventure Pirates to celebrate Young Carers Action Day.We also have to thank these schools for participating in our Hair2Care campaign and raising the awareness of young carers in their local communities.
